The LES Trout in the Classoom program is off and running with a brand new batch of eggs just delivered on Tuesday!  Students and volunteers are trying a new, 2 tank system this season and are hoping for lots of little swimmers in about 30 days.  About 300 eggs will be in the dark and cold, getting ready to hatch.  We aren’t sure how many we will make it- fish hatcheries average about 90% hatch rate, while in the wild, hatching rates average are much, much lower.  We hope to have pictures of our little fingerlings soon.  Stay tuned.
