HOBBIES! LES Discovery Fair….

Welcome to the Lyons ElementarDiscovery Fair 2019!

The fair is off to a great start and it’s going to be so fun! We have 45 children getting ready to share their hobbies and collections with the school, and two inspirational “workshops” under our belt! Thank you Dr. Susan Ornitz from the Vet Clinic in town, and Susanne Ducker from Foxlilie Studio for the amazing opportunity you gave us to feed baby goats, and learn how a vision can turn into a reality.  Thank you both for inspiring our children!

All participants have to write a small (or big!) paragraph telling us

  • What their hobby is
  • Why do they like about it
  • Since when have they been practicing it

We will be sending home a sheet that your child can use for this purpose, but they are welcome to use a different format if they’d like.  Let the creativity flow!

Just a reminder that projects are due Monday, February 4th.  There will be someone receiving projects that morning and afternoon in the library.  If your child is planning on making a video, please upload the video to the google drive link shown bellow.

The children will be interviewed during school hours the week of the fair, to give them a chance to tell us about their project and experience with their hobby.  This part is always fun! We will conclude the fair on Friday Feb. 8th. at 6pm with families and friends, to celebrate our children’s effort and passions.  Save the date!
