Lyons Elementary School is sponsoring a presentation by CU Professor, Elisabeth Stade at the Lyons Regional Library on March 10th beginning at 6:30 pm. In this Parent Workshop, Elisabeth will apply the techniques of looking at art to Mathmatics. She will look at both real art and real math. Elisabeth will explore techniques that can help you guide your children - even if you have no idea what they are doing!

With the help of parent volunteers, Lyons Elementary will be expanding the items we take for recycling. Currently we take used markers of all brands and used printer cartridges but we will be adding toothpaste tubes, shampoo bottles, Cliff Bar (foil lined snack wrappers and chip bags of all sizes. We will be working with Terracycle to recycle these items. Let us know if you have any questions.

LES Second Grade students along with Eco Club members are working on closing the loop this year with Student Store. The primary focus of the Student Store, which is open every Tuesday from 7:40 am to 8:00 am, is to help teach Second Grade students about money. In past years many of the items for sale were small plastic items that often ended up right into the trash. To go along with our Green Star School focus, this year Eco Club members have worked to pick items that can be composted or recycled and/or are made from recycled items. Field Trip Programs
Grades K-2 Winter Detectives Students become winter detectives and search for clues to solve the mysteries of winter in Rocky Mountain National Park. By looking for signs of life in the snow, students will discover a completely different world that exists only during the winter.
