The elementary social studies curriculum adoption committee is reviewing three programs after starting the process with six programs.  The three programs are from Nystrom, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Superintendent Update - The Future of America

Across the district, we have been championing a new motivational motto that is uniting our shared vision for excellence in learning and student advancement: We are taking public education by #StVrainStorm! Every day, I observe countless examples of students, teachers, staff, and community partners exemplifying the highest levels of achievement and drive that represent the very best of our public schools. Our graduation rates are at their highest level – over 90 percent at our traditional schools – and St. Vrain was also one of only four districts in Colorado and 373 nationally to be recognized by College Board’s Annual AP District Honor Roll. Enrollment in Advanced Placement (AP) courses has increased by 50 percent since 2014 with over 3,000 students enrolled in at least one AP class.

The Night Before......Next up in our AIR Series, Author, Natasha Wing

Next up in our AIR series is Author, Natasha Wing.  Natasha writes a series of "the Night Before" books and will do an all school assembly as well as break out sessions with our 2nd graders.  

VEX iq tournament - LES Robotics Team

Vex IQ is a robotics program. We are 5th graders and are on the same team called “Hydralion.” Here we will tell you the steps of the  tournament.

Family BINGO Night and Raffle Baskets- February 22nd

It's that time of year!  Our Family BINGO Night is a FUN! and FREE! event with a delicious pasta dinner provided by Lucky's Market, face painting, BINGO games, popcorn, prizes and our BASKET RAFFLE!  This year our Teacher Experiences will also be raffled off at the event.  These Experiences give students the chance for some "one on one" fun with teachers of their choice.  

Spelling Bee 2019

After 2 1/2 hours of spelling, definitions and countries of origin, Madelynn Johnson finished the round and came up the 2019 4th/5th grade LES Spelling Champion.  Battling to the end, Reagan Friedman took 2nd place.  The winner will participate in our District Spelling competion later this month.  A BIG thank you goes to Mary Ann Bader and her Spelling Crew who volunteer every Thursday at lunch time to make our Spelling Clubs possible.  The 2nd/3rd grade Spelling Club will have their first meeting on February 21st. 

Preschool and Kindergarten Informational Meeting and Tours

On January 15th at 5:30 pm in the LES school library, we will hold an informational meeting regarding our Preschool and Kindergarten Programs.  We will do an overview of our programming and tour the school and classrooms. Please call the Office if you have any questions.

LES Garden awarded LCF grant...Thank you for the LEAVES!  Eco Club braves the snow....

LES Music Concerts

The LES Music Concert schedule for the 2018-19 school year are as follows:

....Winter Concert with 1st and 3rd grades- December 11th at 6:30 pm

....Spring Concert with 2nd and 4th grades- March 13th at 6:30 pm

....Year End Concert with 5th grade- April 25th at 6:30 pm

 

Kindergarten will be performing at their Kindergarten Graduaction Ceremonies.  TBD.
