LES Show Choir attends District Choral Festival

Stepping in Time...LES Show Choir

Lyons Elementary Show Choir, now in their 4th year, were able to attend the 2nd Annual District Elementary School Choral Festival at Skyline HS this month.  The Festival hosted guest conductor, Kate Klotz, from the Boulder Children's Chorale.  The LES Show Choir, with 31 members this year, performed with other SVVSD Choral students and wowed the crowd themselves with a toe tapping version of "Step in Time".  The LES Show Choir is sponsored by our Community School Program and directed by Mr.

Kindergarten Round Up 2018-2019 School Year

KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR!

Registration for Kindergarten will begin on December 1st and LES will kick off the event with an infomational meeting on Tuesday, November 28th at 5:30 pm in our school library.  Classroom teachers, Kate Burns and Aleta Willson as well as Principal, Andrew Moore, will provide information about Kindergarten programming, classroom expectations and curriculum.  Kindergarten Tours are scheduled for Friday, December 1st at 8:30 am and 12::15 pm.

This is the 2nd year Lyons has had two teams go to the Regional First Lego League competition. 2017 had three teams registered with 5 members on each team. Two of the teams elected to go to the regional competition in Fort Collins, The Hydras and The Brain Drops.

Excitement ramps up around the first Wednesday of every month, signifying a move from the classroom to the outside world for the children of Lyons Elementary School.

St. Vrain’s Senior Volunteer Program Enters Sixth Year

The St. Vrain Valley Schools’ Senior Volunteer Program is once again available for the 2017-2018 school year. The program began in November 2012 to welcome seniors and individuals with disabilities into our schools and provide them financial assistance with their county property taxes. Up to 200 participants will be paid a maximum of 40 hours at $10.20 per hour for a total of $408 between January 2, 2018 and April 30, 2018.

LES Pathfinders Lend a Helping Hand to Houston School in Need....

LES Pathfinders kicked off their leadership program with an opportunity to adopt a classroom in Houston that was greatly affected by  Hurricane Harvey. Our Pathfinder kids gather many donated items that were needed by Houston students and sent them off last week.  Pocket folders were a big hit!
