- Community Schools
Over the past several days, we have been closely monitoring the Cal-Wood Fire, in partnership with the Boulder Office of Emergency Management and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. Firefighting crews have done an outstanding job containing the northern spread of the fire, but we know that wildfires can be unpredictable and we must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes to the fire’s activity. Out of an abundance of caution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department has requested that we close our schools in Lyons to in-person learning for Tuesday and Wednesday, in the event the fire shifts direction, which may require additional evacuations.
Beginning Monday, October 5, we will be implementing a hybrid in-person learning schedule for all students who are not currently enrolled in the LaunchED program. Click here to learn more. Comenzando el lunes 5 de octubre, estaremos implementando un programa de aprendizaje híbrido en persona para todos los estudiantes que no estén inscritos actualmente en el programa LaunchED. STAFF MEMBERS: Donna Evans, Teacher
Welcome to Preschool!! My name is Donna Evans and I have been working in the world of education for 36 years. I have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a 3-6 Credential in Montessori Education. When I'm not spending time with my fantastic preschoolers, I'm hiking, reading, gardening and bowling.
The Lyons Elementary Preschool is designed to be an integral part of the eduational process at Lyons Elementary School and the St. Vrain Valley School District. The elementary school provides an excellent preschool facility and atmosphere for a high qualiity learning experience for your child. The preschool functions under the direction of the Lyons Elementary Preschool Director and the St. Vrain Valley Community Schools. Financially, the program operates on a self-supporting basis.
The purpose of Lyons Elementary Preschool is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to develop and grow socially, physically and emotionally. Through the classroom experience, your child will develop independence from the family group and a new awareness of the world around them. Your child will participate in many activities developed to enrich and enhance both small and large motor skills and basic readiness concepts (i.e. colors, numbers, counting, and shapes). Our curriculum is quite flexible and designed to stimulate each child to develop a positive self image through positive experiences and encouragement. With these experiences, we like to believe we will enable your child to become a life long learner and have a smooth entry to kindergarten.
