The Lyons Elementary preschool is designed to be an integral part of the educational process at Lyons Elementary School and the St. Vrain Valley School District. The elementary school provides an excellent preschool facility and atmosphere for a high-quality learning experience for your child. The preschool functions under the direction of the the Lyons Elementary School Principal, the Lyons Elementary Preschool Director and the St. Vrain Valley School District. Financially, the program operates on a self-supporting basis.
The purpose of Lyons Elementary Preschool and Lyons Elementary School is to educate all students to their highest potential by fostering a creative, cooperative, and community based environment.
Enrollment Window: TBD
The purpose of Lyons Elementary Preschool is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to develop and grow socially, physically and emotionally. Through the classroom experience, children will develop independence from the family group and a new awareness of the world around them. Your child will participate in many activities developed to enrich and enhance both small and large motor skills and basic readiness concepts (i.e. colors, numbers, counting, and shapes). Our curriculum is quite flexible and designed to stimulate each child to develop a positive self image through positive experiences and encouragement. With these experiences, we believe we will enable your child to become a lifelong learner and have a smooth entry to kindergarten.
Enrollment Process: Generally, starting on December 1, families will need to register online. About January 15, the Lyons Elementary school office team will begin contacting families to indicate their enrollment status, or notify families of their place on the waiting list. At that point families will need to complete additional enrollment paperwork and put down a non refundable deposit of $65. Questions or support can be directed to the Lyons Elementary School front office team.
For full tuition paying families, we will use the following designations first to prioritize enrollment. If we have more students in these designated categories than spots available, we will use a lottery system to determine placement.
- First priority:
- Families who applied during the Open Enrollment Window
- Next priority: (4 equally weighted designations)
- Child resides in the school attendance area.
- Family has a sibling at the school.
- Child has a parent who is a staff member at the school.
- Child attended LES preschool the previous year
We encourage all families to apply, regardless of their economic or disability status.
At registration, you are required to bring or acknowledge the following:
- Birth Certificate
- Health and Immunization Record (within 30 days of the start of school)
- Understand that your child must be toilet trained
- A Health Record Form will be provided and must be filled out by a physician prior to the beginning of school
