The Lyons Elementary School Garden has really grown by leaps and bounds this year. With seedlings germinated under lights and planted by 1st grade students, the garden is producing tomatos, cucumbers, squash, basil, dill and peppers of all colors. Eco Club and 1st grade students have been harvesting for a couple weeks now, supplying our local LEAF Food Bank with amazing fresh produce. The Garden will play an important role in our new Science and Leadership Program to be held on Late Start Days. Students will be harvesting, getting beds ready for winter, learning about compost and soils, and more.
