Lyons Elementary Garden continues to grow….

With the help of our LES Eco Club and Pathfinders our students have been harvesting and have delivered several hundred pounds of food to our LEAF Food Bank already.  With support and grants from the LCF, the garden added a hoop house last year and we are expecting to be able to extend our harvest season well into the fall season.  The Garden will be workng towards a local Seed Library, cultivating our own seed bank and making our own soil.  The Eco/Garden Club will be meeting twice a month after school this year, with our first meeting focusing on Green Star School efforts and the second meeting will be focusing on our Garden goals.  If you are interested in helping us with any of these projects, please email Kim and Andy Doering:  [email protected].
