During the 2015-16 school year, I will be entering my 19th year at Lyons Elementary School. Being a native of Lyons and attending schools from k-12 grades, I feel very connected to this community as a teacher and a parent. After receiving my B.S. in Human and Family Studies from Northern Illinois University, I returned to Colorado in hopes of becoming a social worker in the Front Range area. As it turned out, I pursued elementary education, earning a B.A. from Colorado Christian University in 1996. I also have a Master's degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in literacy.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy playing volleyball, hiking with my family, reading and activities with my two sons, Nicholas and Alex.
