Greetings Mountain Lyons —
It’s always a bittersweet feeling when the school year comes to a close. Today, during our final all-school assembly, we celebrated the many highlights of the year—from PTO events and field trips to the friendships and learning that shaped our days. It was a joy to reflect on all we’ve accomplished and especially moving to send our 5th graders off with pride and love as they head to middle school.
I continue to be inspired by this incredible community. In every conversation with families, we find common ground, focus on your child, and approach each moment as a chance to grow. Our staff brings that same spirit—every decision rooted in what’s best for students. It’s a gift to work alongside such passionate, talented people—and I count each of you among them.
I’m happy to share that our initial reading and math data shows that, once again, our students are thriving (literally–top scores in the District). In both areas, they grew and achieved at exceptionally high rates. This kind of success doesn’t happen by accident—it’s the result of thoughtful planning, strong instruction, and the cumulative care we put into every detail of our programming.
This summer, I plan to read, write, create, rest, and recharge—spending time with my family here in Colorado and back in Wisconsin. I hope you, too, find time to do what fuels your family.
A special thank you to our PTO—your dedication to enhancing every aspect of our school and students’ experience is truly one of our greatest strengths. We’re deeply grateful to our volunteers, leaders, and Jogathon donors for your incredible support.
I’ll be at school most of June and welcome your outreach. As always, please know your children remain our greatest focus.
Warm regards,
Principal Moore
