District Art Show Pictures

Greetings Mountain Lyons,
Happy Thursday!

The District Art Show opens tonight at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, and it is not to be missed! I had the chance to preview the entire gallery and was blown away by the creativity, expression, and talent on display. Seeing our students’ work alongside art from across the district is such a powerful reminder of the importance of the arts in our schools. Tonight’s Opening Night is a fun-filled event, and we are so proud of our students’ work, so please consider attending. The District Art Show is a perfect warm-up before our own Fine Arts Festival on Monday night—see you there! HERE IS THE MUST READ INFORMATION ABOUT THE FINE ARTS FESTIVAL EVENT>>

Tomorrow marks our final day of CMAS testing, and I want to give a big shoutout to our 3rd–5th grade students. They’ve approached the assessments with care, focus, and an incredible sense of pride. We are so proud of their efforts! Once results are available, we’ll dig into the data to help guide our instructional planning and program development moving forward.

Next Tuesday, we will be electing next year’s PTO Board! We have had an incredible year, and a slate of wonderful plans for next year! We’d love for you to join us!

Lastly, we have a few staffing updates to share. Erin Black, one of our amazing Specialized Para Professionals, has accepted a new position at the Career and Tech Program (CETC). Ms. Erin has been with us for two years and built strong connections with students—we’ll miss her dearly. And after ten years of dedication to Lyons and 30 years of teaching, the wonderful Ms. Boaman is retiring! Her impact on our school community is immeasurable, and we look forward to celebrating her during our end-of-year events. While it’s hard to say goodbye, we’re excited to welcome Mrs. Kate Zalzal to our 1st-grade team! Mrs. Zalzal has spent the past three years developing our Math Lab and brings warmth, brilliance, and heart to all she does. We are thrilled for her next chapter and the lucky students who will learn with her next year.

Thank you all so much for all you do for our school community.

.

Have a great rest of your week!
