Dear School Community,
Greetings Lyons Elementary Families!
First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone participating in our Holiday Food Drive. Your generosity provides thousands of pounds of food to support families in our community during the holidays and sustains our LEAF foodbank well into the new year. Your kindness truly makes a difference!
A quick reminder: our enrollment window for Open Enrollment and Kindergarten Registration is officially open! We are now accepting new students, from Kindergarten through 5th grade, for the upcoming school year. Preschool Registration will open December 17th. We’re hosting school tours and are excited to meet potential new families. If you know neighbors or friends who might be interested, please encourage them to reach out or visit. This Saturday, we’re thrilled to participate in the Lyons Holiday Parade! It’s a wonderful family event, and we’d love for you to join us. We’ll start building our float at 3 PM in front of the elementary school, and the parade kicks off at 6:30 PM. If you can’t join us earlier, feel free to walk with our float during the parade itself. Let’s make it a festive evening together celebrating our young Environmental Leaders!
Next Tuesday, December 12th, we’ll hold our PK-12 School Accountability Committee (SAC) meeting at 4 PM at Lyons Middle Senior High School. We’ll review our progress toward annual goals and share updates on the Bond. All are welcome to attend!
Looking ahead, our next PTO meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 16th, at 3 PM. We’ll discuss several exciting topics, including a new Room Parent program, our school’s bond plan, and our beloved Artist in Residence program. Your input and presence would mean so much.
As we approach winter break, these next few weeks are vital for student growth. Our students will be demonstrating their progress in reading and math through various assessments that help us understand their mastery of grade-level standards and skills. If you have questions about this process or your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
