Principal Update 01/06/2025
Greetings, Mountain Lyons!
Happy New Year! We hope you’ve all had a restful and joyful break. We’re excited to welcome students back to school tomorrow and kick off a fantastic second half of the year. Below are a few updates, reminders, and upcoming events to keep on your radar:
Winter Reading Challenge
As students have been reading over the break, don’t forget to log their reading minutes! Our goal is for every student to read 400 or more minutes during the challenge. Let’s celebrate their hard work together!
BOND Construction Planning
We’re thrilled to announce that planning for our BOND Construction project begins this month. If you’re interested in joining our Design Advisory Group, please send us an email. Your input is invaluable, and we’d love to have your voice at the table.
Discovery Fair
Our PTO is sponsoring this year’s Discovery Fair—a film festival led by Mrs. Wegert and an amazing group of volunteers. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students and families to showcase their personal passions and family traditions. Check out the attached flyer for more details, and consider participating in this fun event!
Morning Drop-Off Reminders
To keep everyone safe and mornings running smoothly, please review these important guidelines:
- No Parking Along the Curbside: Please do not park curbside during morning drop-off.
- Using the Bus Lane:
- Pull up as close to the crosswalk as possible before stopping.
- Ensure your child is ready to exit the vehicle quickly, preferably from a curbside door.
- Curbside Along the High Street Fence Line:
- If you need more time to say goodbye, this area is the best option. While we ask that you remain in your vehicle, it’s okay to take a moment here.
- Parking in the Lot:
- Great choice! Please encourage your child to use the crosswalk when crossing the bus lane.
- Remember, the handicap lane is reserved for those with permits—please avoid parking there.
Front Door Safety
A gentle but important reminder: please do not hold the door open for anyone. This is the one time we ask, please do not be kind. When we buzz you in through the front office, it’s for you alone. While we look forward to improvements through our BOND Construction’s secure vestibule plans, your vigilance helps keep everyone safe in the meantime.
Thank you for your attention to these updates and reminders. We are so excited for the new year ahead and look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
Warm regards,
Principal Moore
