Greetings Mountain Lyons,
Happy Thursday!
This week, our 3rd–5th grade students began taking CMAS. We’ve already completed three sessions of math, and our students worked so diligently! We’re excited to see the results, especially since we’ve kept a laser focus on written expression and computation. The assessment really leans on math fluency and strong problem-solving skills—two things we deeply value here.
Next Wednesday, the District Art Show opens at the Longmont Fairgrounds. This is an incredible showcase of student artwork from across the district. I always feel a huge sense of pride when I see what our students create! The show runs from Wednesday through Sunday—be sure to stop by.
Then, it’s our turn to shine! On Monday, April 21, we’ll host our 2nd Annual Fine Arts Festival, kicking off at 5:00 p.m. The event will feature art from many K–2 students and all 3rd–5th graders, aligned with our District Art Show goals. You’ll also enjoy musical performances from every grade level and—yes—food trucks! We’ll share the full schedule next week so you can plan your evening.
A big shout-out to everyone who participated in our Spring Reading Challenge! Nearly 25% of our students reached the 200-minute reading milestone. Way to go, Lyons!
We hope to see you at many of our upcoming events, including our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on Friday, April 25, from 10:30–1:00 p.m.
Have a great rest of your week!
